About the Event
ASHEEP & BEEF is holding a catch up for cattle / sheep producers and those in our industry to discuss learnings from the dry season and how to move forward.
Come along to Gibson Football Club on Wed 21st August at 5pm for farming banter and good company. We’ll put some drinks on the bar and discussion will be followed by a delicious lamb, beef and salad dinner prepared by Lauren's Larder.
Share ideas, ask a few questions. It has been a tough season, producers are still working through the impacts and anticipating the flow on effects. There will be good information with farmers and local industry sharing their experiences and ideas.
If you want to bring someone who’s not a member of ASHEEP & BEEF, no problem.
- 5:00pm arrive, bar open, nibbles
- 5:30pm discussion on learnings from past dry season and how to move forward
- 7:00pm dinner by Lauren's Larder featuring topical proteins – lamb & beef
Discussion will include:
- Update on the trial of retired CBH tarps on dam catchments, including rainfall runoff and tarp costs - David Cook (SEPWA)
- Feed supply outlook and managing potential forward shortages - Daryl Gifford (Esperance Quality Grains)
- Supplementary feeding: pointers from the hay & silage workshops, testing feed quality and calculating rations – producers Jason Schutz, Ryan Willing + Tyneal Callus (South Coastal Agencies)
