About the Event
ASHEEP & BEEF's Autumn Expo of sheep and cattle handling gear, eID and tech has shaped up nicely! All farmers and industry are welcome to join us for a day of good talk, good tech, and good food at the Esperance Livestock Transport depot on Wednesday 13th March at 639 Myrup Rd, Myrup. Keynote speakers, equipment in action, gear on display, learn how to use eID, & more.
***Please note: there are roadworks on Myrup Road saying it is closed, the Shire have advised us that it is open for local traffic and they are aware that people will be coming through for the field day.

- Sally Martin (SheepMetrix), an eID / genetics / data collection expert, joins us from NSW and will speak and MC the day alongside producer David Vandenberghe (ASHEEP & BEEF Chair / Vandenberghe Partners). Dave has been using eID throughout his commercial and stud flocks for many years.
09:10AM Case Study
- Producer Clayton South (Tahara) will cover how he has used eID data to optimise lamb production in a commercial flock of around 4000 Dohne ewes near Wagin.
09:50AM Concurrent Sessions - We'll break into smaller groups to go through a range of stations, gear displays and demonstrations, each group will have an opportunity to go through all the stations. Further questions and demonstrations can be followed up during lunch).
- NVD process with eID tags with Andrew Longbottom (DPIRD)
- Shearwell - Thomas & Courteney Pengilly will be running a demonstration with Shearwell tags and equipment, and sharing their knowlege of eID systems.
- Gallagher - eShepherd virtual fencing for cattle, Norton cattle crush, crutch & dag handler, weigh scales, wireless load bars, eID wands & head units.

BIOSECURITY
Please observe farm biosecurity and arrive in clean boots & clothes. If you are travelling in a car that has been on other farms please make sure it is clean (free of weed seeds and soil).
WHAT TO BRING
Wet weather gear / warm clothes / hat / sunscreen, we go rain or shine.
SAFETY
We are visiting a livestock depot which includes a range of hazards. Please stay as a group and observe instructions given to you. Stay away from moving machinery or vehicles, look out for slips / trips, keep a safe distance from any livestock we may encounter (if you are given the opportunity to handle stock please follow ASHEEP & BEEF’s livestock handling safe work procedures available to download here and take instruction given to you by the farm host / field day Chair). When you are driving please drive cautiously and avoid hazards such as potholes, deep water, slippery areas, wild animals, and livestock.
PERSONAL ACCESSIBILITY
Please note that this event will visit yards that include uneven / soft / rough terrain. We plan to have a portable toilet available, but there are several steps to access it. If you have accessibility requirements and need something for you to safely attend the event, please call ASHEEP & BEEF on the number below and we will endeavour to find a solution.
