Eastern States Tour from the 2nd to the 10th of August.
The tour will depart Perth at 6.45am on Friday 2nd August flying to Melbourne where we hope to catch a game of Football. On Saturday 3rd we travel to Hamilton with a farm visit along the way.
The 4th and 5th August is Sheepvention Rural Expo which has been a cornerstone of the Australian Sheep industry for over four decades. Since its inception in 1979, this two-day event has grown into one of the most prestigious rural events in Australia, providing an unrivalled platform for agribusiness, machinery, equipment, livestock, and professional services. We will all attend the first day of Sheepvention including dinner with Rabobank on Sunday night. Monday 5th we will organise farm visits to cattle and pasture properties for those that don’t want to attend the second day of Sheepvention.
Tuesday 6th we will travel through Naracoorte and Keith looking at the Lucerne industry including seed cleaning, packaging, and the distribution system and then on the farms growing Lucerne for seed and variety plot trials. We hope to visit a large cattle feedlot on our way to Tailem Bends, SA. We will spend the night at The Bend Motor Sport Park and Auto Gallery which showcases an incredible range of unique road and racing cars and bikes.
Wednesday the 7th we will visit the Thomas Foods International recently completed state-of-the-art Murray Bridge meat processing facility. As well as farm visits around Murray Bridge including Illawarra cattle and cropping river flats and a paddle boat cruise before spending the night at the Bridgeport Hotel, right on the Murray River.
Thursday we will travel to Adelaide for day one of the LambEx Conference including the LambEx Grandslamb Dinner. LambEx is the pinnacle in Australian sheep, lamb and wool. A biennial event which attracts 1200+ attendees from Australia and across the globe. For those that don’t want to attend a second day of LambEx we will organise our last farm visits finishing with a winery tour before returning to Adelaide in time for the keen footy fans to catch another game at Adelaide Oval Friday night.
